The UAE administered 103,196 doses of COVID-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours.
The country’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said the total number of vaccines administered now stands at 15.04 million, giving a vaccination rate of 152.10 doses per 100 people.
Fully vaccinated tourists from GCC countries, including UAE residents, can travel to Switzerland for sightseeing from June 26 without quarantine or pre-travel PCR tests, a senior Swiss Tourism official said. Unvaccinated children up to 16 years old can travel with their vaccinated parents, while those aged 16 to 18 will need to present a negative test result.
Residents can now receive the UAE-made COVID-19 vaccine, Hayat-Vax, and anyone aged 18 or above can book their vaccination through the Ministry of Health and Prevention’s (Mohap) COVID-19 UAE app.
Indian police said on Friday that around 2,000 people in Mumbai had been given fake COVID-19 vaccines and another 500 people, some of them disabled, may have suffered the same fate in the second biggest city.
Several popular European countries have announced rules for fully vaccinated travelers who want to visit the country. Europe is reopening to Americans and other travelers after more than a year of coronavirus restrictions, but travelers will need to be patient to figure out who is allowed into which countries, how and when.
