RB and Alpine underwent the customary additional inspection by the FIA on their car software and both teams received the go-ahead.
The FIA will periodically randomly select cars for more detailed testing beyond the standard race weekend checks, and two cars were selected after the Canadian Grand Prix: Yuki Tsunoda’s RB and Esteban Ocon’s Alpine.

Alpine and RB both had a strong points-scoring performance at the Canadian Grand Prix, with Alpine recording their first double points finish of the 2024 F1 season with Pierre Gasly finishing in 9th place and Ocon in 10th place.
The ordering of the Alpine cars left Ocon frustrated, suggesting he had been a “team player” by accepting Gasly’s request to let him go first so he could attempt an attack on RB’s Daniel Ricciardo, but the team had not played their part.
Alpine later explained that Haas’ Nico Hulkenberg, who was closing in on them in 11th place, had denied Alpine a safe chance to undo their earlier position swap.
Meanwhile, Ricciardo’s eighth place finish was his first top 10 grand prix result of the season.
