Tickets are now on sale for the High Desert Museum’s 35th annual fundraising event, High Desert Rendezvous, which also includes the opportunity to name the museum’s new Aplomado Falcon.
The Aug. 24 event will feature live and silent auctions and a gala dinner, with all proceeds benefiting the museum’s programs, exhibitions and wildlife conservation efforts.

BEND, Ore. — It’s time to grab your seats! Tickets are on sale now for the High Desert Museum’s annual fundraiser, the High Desert Rendezvous. Now in its 35th year.Number This year on Saturday, August 24, the Rendezvous will once again feature an evening of celebration in support of the museum’s dynamic programs, exhibits and wildlife.
“The Rendezvous has become a highlight of our annual summer,” said Museum Executive Director Dr. Dana Whitelaw, “and we look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones while celebrating the Museum’s achievements and toasting to our generous community.”
Additionally, raffle tickets are already on sale to name the Museum’s new Aplomad Falcon. The lucky winner, who will be selected during the Rendezvous, will not only have the honor of naming the falcon, but will also receive benefits such as a behind-the-scenes wildlife tour, a falcon encounter, a High Desert Museum Family Membership, eight tickets to the 2025 Desert Sky Raptors Show, a stuffed falcon, and a framed naming certificate. Winners do not need to come to the Rendezvous to be eligible. The name chosen must resonate with the essence of the High Desert, pay tribute to the Aplomad Falcon, and be appropriate for a Museum audience. The Rendezvous experience begins at the museum entrance, where guests are warmly greeted by animal ambassadors, including golden eagles, porcupines and desert tortoises. Guests will also have the opportunity to preview items from the evening’s live auction and bid on incredible works of art that will be featured in a juried exhibition. As the evening progresses, guests are invited to dine under an outdoor tent decorated with twinkling lights, and the atmosphere will be filled with fun, including an exciting live auction, captivating entertainment, and recognition of this year’s Rendezvous recipients, the Bend Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Brooks Resources Corporation, the organization that donated the 135-acre land on which the museum now sits.
Funds from High Desert Rendezvous support the Museum’s meaningful exhibits, wildlife interactions, and education programs that generate interest in the High Desert region. As a result, this popular annual event ensures that the Museum continues to inspire lifelong learners, spark meaningful conversations, and foster a community where diverse cultures, landscapes, and wildlife can thrive together.
