If you lose your Emirates ID card, you can receive a replacement card within just 24 hours.
The Emirates Identity Authority (Eida) offers a premium service and will charge 150 dirhams to issue a replacement card.
“Premium paid services are available for Dh150 per card,” the spokesman said. Emirates 24|7.
To avail this service, you will need to visit the nearest Emirates ID Service Centre, present a copy of your passport with residence stamp and pay the fee at the designated counter.
“Replacement cards will be provided to customers within 24 hours,” he said.
However, not many people are aware of this new service, including PR executive Sonali Kumar.
“I’ve never applied for a replacement card, so I don’t know that such a service exists,” she said, adding that there are people who need these services so it’s really good that there’s an option for a faster process.
The general steps to apply for a replacement card are as follows:
• You can choose to complete the electronic form yourself or follow the steps below.
• Submit the required documents to any of the certified typing offices.
• Pay the exchange fee and entry fee and receive the exchange application form
• Please visit any of the official registration centres as the process may require you to have your photographs or prints taken again.
• Once you receive an SMS from Emirates ID informing you that your ID card is ready, go to an Emirates Post Office to collect your card.
