There are lots of ways to dissect this season’s biggest trends: we could discuss silhouettes (did you hear bubble skirts are back?), textures, fabrics, hardware, hem lengths, etc. But for this article, I want to focus on one of my favorite ways to categorize: color. Kirsten Dunst’s latest outfit suddenly made me want to add some butter yellow to my wardrobe this summer.
Shot at the New York premiere Types of kindnessDunst teamed her ethereal yellow gown by Erdem with gold heels by Jimmy Choo. As our colleagues reported in April, butter yellow was a hugely popular color trend on the Spring/Summer 2024 runways, with Bottega Veneta showing off laser-cut dresses in the sunny hue and Givenchy opting for a pastel yellow coat. As expected, the color trend also made its way into the affordable segment, with H&M and Nordstrom, in particular, offering plenty of options for those looking to try out the hue.
