Bravo! Vail Music Festival
The 37th annual Bravo! Vail Music Festival kicks off Thursday and runs through Aug. 1. Over the six-week festival, Bravo! Vail will host three internationally acclaimed resident orchestras: the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. For the first time, Bravo! Vail will welcome a guest orchestra from Latin America, Mexico’s renowned Sinfonica de Mineria. These musicians will open the festival on Thursday and perform two more performances at 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater.
Saturday’s performance will be a special treat, featuring flamenco dancing and singing, while Sunday’s performance will feature special string instruments, Venezuelan cuatro and trumpets in a lively performance that will close the Sinfónica de Mineria’s Vail concert.
For a fuller experience, come a little early and join the pre-concert talk at 5:10 p.m. on Saturday, moderated by Heeseung Lee of the University of Northern Colorado in the lobby of the venue’s Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, or join the Sinfónica de Mineria conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto immediately after the performance on Sunday.
Lawn seats are $34 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Pavilion seating varies depending on where you sit. For schedules, tickets and more information about performances, visit BravoVail.org..

Stellabration
On Sunday, the good people at Rocky Mountain Taco in Minturn will host a Stellabration in honor of Stella, the beloved mascot who was a part of the restaurant for many years. Stella recently passed away, but as a way to give back, Stella’s owner and Rocky Mountain Taco restaurateur Dan Purtell will be hosting a charity event to benefit Eagle County Animal Services.
The event will be very similar to Stella’s fabulous Quinceañera held last fall. There will be drink specials and live music by Carmage and DJ Crusher Jones. Friendly dogs are welcome but must stay on the patio on a leash. There will also be dog cakes made by Dan Sweets. Eagle County Animal Services will also be at the event with pets available for adoption.
To help keep Eagle County Animal Services running, bring in used or new items like dog and cat collars, leashes, beds, toys, or even rolls of paper towels or laundry detergent. With your donation, you’ll receive a free raffle ticket for a chance to win some great prizes.
The event runs from 3 to 6 pm, and if you can’t attend in person there is a GoFundMe link. Those who would like to donate can post their donation on Rocky Mountain Taco’s Instagram profile. Purtell said she will also be taking Eagle County Animal Services staff shopping and helping them purchase other items they need.
