Jude Bellingham told TNT Sports exclusively that he loves being Real Madrid’s main player.
The England international joined Los Blancos in a big-money move from Borussia Dortmund last summer and starred in his debut in Spain.
He has scored 20 goals in 34 appearances, four of which came in the club’s appearance in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
And with a 3-3 draw in great shape, Bellingham will be hoping he can turn heads when he returns to England.
“It’s wonderful,” he said. “I love every aspect of it. The playing side of it, being out on the town with fans and having family and friends over, it’s really great. Just trying to involve yourself in a new culture is a challenge. ”
“I think we’ve had some great conversations with some teams in England. When Real Madrid came in, it was a bit of a no-brainer.”
“What they said, what they made me feel, you can’t imitate anyone else. Now I think I’m reaping the benefits of that this year. Every time I go to training I am very grateful.”
“It’s a responsibility I’ve always wanted, but I never thought it would come so soon. Last year I was sitting on the sofa in Dortmund watching the game and he had already been sent off!”
“You think, ‘I can’t wait to play in a game like that one day,’ and I’m learning from the players what I’m learning now. I’m very lucky, to be honest. I feel very grateful for how everyone has accepted me and the guidance they have given me and hopefully I can give back to them. ”
Federico Valverde’s late goal earned Real a 3-3 draw in the first leg at the Bernabéu, leaving them tied for the win heading into the rematch at the Etihad Stadium.
The winner will face either Bayern Munich or Arsenal in the semi-finals.
However, it won’t be easy for Los Blancos to advance considering they are the defending champions. .
Of course, Real Madrid have won the trophy 14 times, but this will be Bellingham’s first shot at European glory.
“It means the world to me,” he continued. “These are the games we’ve been preparing for all season. They’re the games everyone wants to play, the games everyone is talking about. It’s great to be able to deliver to your teammates, the coaches and the families who are coming to watch the games. It would be great if we could do that.” ”
And the demand for tickets to Bellingham was huge.
“To be honest, I had to turn off my phone a few times,” he joked.
The 20-year-old is confident of progressing to the next round as he hopes to put on a show for his lucky family and friends taking part.
Indeed, despite conceding three goals in the first leg, Bellingham believes Real put in a solid performance and can build on their achievements in Manchester.
“I didn’t expect so many goals,” he added. “I thought it would be a little closer, but we have to adapt to what happens.
“The important thing is that we give our all to this game. Whether we want to beat it or not, it’s technically 0-0. , that’s a good way to think about it.
“We prepare as if we are playing a new game. We take lessons from that game and prepare to play again.
“It was a good performance in terms of our defensive structure. We didn’t concede too much to our opponent.
“If you look at the goals they scored, they were three great goals. In that sense, it gives us confidence knowing they didn’t take advantage of us and our overall form is good. It was very good in terms of
“I think it’s up to us now to be a little more aggressive and chase the game a little more. I have a lot of faith in the staff and the coach, so whatever they say will help us win the game.” , they have analyzed it and you trust it and go ahead with it.
“I really can’t wait. I’m a little frustrated and just preparing. I’m really looking forward to games like this. It’s a game when you sign for a club like this.”
“There’s no point in being here and being nervous or not wanting to play. I’m just going to go out there and try to make my play. And I’m sure the players will do the same.”
“They are [Manchester City] It’s definitely a puzzle. I think I played here four times with Dortmund and of course once with Madrid this time, but I think you play against a different team every time.
“Not necessarily the players, but the way they set up and the areas they want to attack and hurt you.
“That’s really interesting as a player because it’s almost a game within a game and you’re trying to figure out what to do to win the game. It’s really interesting and I’m really looking forward to it. Masu.”
