The rivalry that WNBA fans have been anticipating between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese was further developed on Sunday afternoon in a heated battle between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky.
Individually, Clark finished with 23 points, eight rebounds and nine assists in the game win. She started well for the Fever, making her first three shots and scoring seven points in the first quarter, matching her point totals in Thursday’s win over the Atlanta Dream.
Reese was plagued by foul trouble, going to the bench with four fouls in the third quarter after getting into three, including a flagrant foul for hitting Clark in the head on a drive to the basket.
She picked up her fifth foul midway through the fourth quarter, but Sky coach Teresa Witherspoon brought Reese back into the game with about five minutes left and the Fever leading by five points. It looked like a good game for Reese, but foul trouble stalled the game. Reese led the Sky with nine points by halftime. Reese finished with 11 points, a team-high 13 rebounds and five assists.
