Dear Reader: Perhaps some geologists, climatologists, and other environmental scientists can explain why so many catastrophic weather events occur around the world. I theorize that the increase in ocean volume and the corresponding increase in pressure on deep-sea tectonic plates is accelerating the speed and intensity of tectonic plate movement and collision. Polar ice and glacial ice are melting, increasing the volume of the oceans, while greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide are causing ocean temperatures to rise and become more acidic. Deforestation and large-scale forest fires are reducing the contribution of plants to carbon sequestration and carbon reduction to the health of the planet. There is also growing concern about an ocean current system called the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation, a “conveyor belt” of ocean currents. AMOC moves varying levels of warm water and salts around the Earth, regulating Earth’s temperature, absorbing carbon dioxide, and fueling the water cycle. There are concerns that this vital system could soon collapse, leaving large parts of Europe in deep freeze. I also believe that some of the extreme weather we are seeing is caused by geoengineering. I’ve been skeptical about this for years, but I recently watched a compelling documentary on the subject.
