The son of King Daeron II and the Dornish Lady Myrria Martell, Baelor holds the rare distinction of being a true member of House Targaryen, sporting the dark hair of the Dornish rather than the silver hair characteristic of House Targaryen. Though he doesn’t look like a traditional Targaryen nobleman, Baelor is the textbook ideal of a warrior, leader, and lord, and he behaves like one.
Baelor fought bravely in the Blackfyre Rebellions, a series of violent wars of succession sparked by the actions of his late grandfather, who legitimized his bastard lineage. He famously defeated the rebellion’s leader, Daemon Blackfyre, in a great joust, earning the title Baelor “Breakspear” Targaryen. It was Daeron’s cowardly actions that led Aegon, disguised as Egg, to meet Ser Duncan the Thor and become his squire in the first place.

Aerion, who thinks of himself as a literal dragon in human form, appears as the main antagonist in the first book of The Adventures of Dunk and Egg. A skilled warrior, steadfast leader, and stalwart ruler, Mayker has earned an uneven reputation as both a king and a Targaryen. The fourth son of his predecessor, King Daeron II, Mayker was constantly overshadowed by his prince-brothers Baelor, Areys, and Rhaegel, both in his exploits in battle during the Blackfyre Rebellion and his efforts as a statesman in King’s Landing.
Though last in line to the throne, a series of unfortunate deaths in his family meant that Maykr rose to the throne. Sadly, Valar is a dead end in the Targaryen family tree, having lost three children in infancy to his wife Lady Jenna Dondarrion.
